eFax Plans and Monthly Pricing

eFax offers three tiers: Plus, Pro, and Corporate. The Plus plan is the most commonly advertised, but it is not the most commonly used once you look at what it actually covers.

PlanMonthly priceIncluded pagesOverage rate
eFax Plus$18.99/mo150 receive + 170 send$0.10/page
eFax Pro$31.99/mo200 receive + 300 send$0.10/page
eFax CorporateCustomCustom volumeNegotiated

The Plus plan covers 170 outbound pages per month, not faxes. A 5-page fax counts as 5 pages. If you send 35 faxes at 5 pages each, that is 175 pages and you are already in overage territory on the Plus plan.

The Pro plan bumps you to 300 outbound pages for $31.99, which is $384 per year before any additional fees.

eFax Hidden Costs and Fees

The monthly fee is not the full story. eFax adds several charges that new users typically do not see until after signup.

  • $10 setup fee

eFax charges a one-time activation fee when you create a new account. This is billed immediately at signup, separate from your first month.

  • $0.10/page overage

Every page over your monthly limit is billed at $0.10. A 10-page fax that puts you over your limit adds $1.00 to that month's bill. No warning. Just a larger charge at billing.

  • International surcharges

Faxes sent to international numbers carry per-page surcharges on top of the standard rate. The exact amount varies by country and is not prominently disclosed during signup.

  • Annual commitment required for lower prices

eFax's advertised prices sometimes reflect annual billing. Month-to-month rates can run higher. Read the fine print on the checkout page before entering your card.

Real Cost by Fax Volume: eFax vs. FaxDrop

eFax prices per page. FaxDrop prices per fax (up to 10 pages each). Here is what both services cost at different sending volumes, assuming 5 pages per fax on average.

Faxes per montheFax Plus costFaxDrop costMonthly savings
1 fax/month$18.99$0 (free tier)$18.99
2 faxes/month$18.99$0 (free tier)$18.99
5 faxes/month$18.99$5.00 (5 faxes from $9.99 10-pack)$13.99
10 faxes/month$18.99$9.99 (10-pack)$9.00
25 faxes/month$18.99 + ~$3.00 overage$9.99/mo subscription$12.00
50 faxes/month$31.99 (Pro plan)$9.99/mo subscription$22.00

The key difference is the pricing model. eFax bills you the same $18.99 whether you send one fax or 34 faxes in a month. FaxDrop charges only for what you actually use. Credits never expire, so you can buy a 10-pack in March and still use those credits in December.

No $10 setup fee. No $0.10/page overages. FaxDrop gives you 2 free faxes per month with no credit card required.

Who eFax Is Actually Worth It For

eFax makes sense for a specific type of organization. If your office sends more than 200 faxes per month, needs a dedicated inbound fax number, requires enterprise admin controls with multi-user access, or has IT compliance requirements that mandate a named vendor, eFax's Corporate plan is worth the conversation.

For everyone else, the math does not work. Most individuals and small businesses searching for eFax pricing are sending fewer than 20 faxes per month. At $18.99 per month, that works out to more than $1 per fax before any overages. There is no reason to pay that.

The free trial strategy is a factor too. eFax requires a credit card for the 14-day trial, which means forgetting to cancel converts into a $18.99 charge. That is by design.

How to Cancel eFax

eFax cancellation is not self-serve. You need to contact their customer support by phone or live chat to cancel. This is a friction tactic. Have your account number ready and expect to go through a retention flow before they process the request.

Cancel before your next billing date to avoid another monthly charge. eFax does not issue prorated refunds for unused days in the billing cycle.

Once cancelled, you can send your next fax through FaxDrop without signing up. Upload your document, enter the fax number, and send. Two faxes per month are included free.

Skip the setup fee and the monthly bill

FaxDrop gives you 2 free faxes per month. Pay per fax after that. No setup fee, no overage charges, no cancellation call required.

Send a Fax Free

No fax machine. No signup. 2 free faxes per month.
