Common questions
Can I track my fax?
Yes. Every fax gets a tracking/status page and a confirmation email. Use the Track this fax link in your email, or sign in and open Account > Fax History to track status. The page shows delivery status, timestamp, recipient number, page count, and confirmation ID. For privacy, FaxDrop does not store the document itself after transmission.
My fax says Queued. What does that mean?
Your fax has been accepted and is waiting to connect to the recipient's fax machine. Most faxes complete within 90 seconds. If it stays queued for more than 5 minutes, the recipient's line may be busy. FaxDrop will retry automatically up to 3 times.
My fax has been pending for a while. What do I do?
Just let it run. You do not need to keep this page open. The moment your fax is delivered (or if it fails), you will receive an email confirmation automatically. Large documents can take 30-60+ minutes. We handle retries on our end. Close the tab, go about your day, and check your inbox.
Will I be notified if my fax fails?
Yes. You will receive an email notification whether the fax succeeds or fails. If it fails due to a busy line or unreachable machine, FaxDrop will retry automatically up to 3 times before marking it as failed.
How can I verify what was sent?
Every fax gets a tracking/status page and an email confirmation with the recipient number, page count, delivery status, timestamp, and confirmation ID. If you were signed in when you sent the fax, your Account page also shows your fax history and status links. For privacy, FaxDrop does not store the document itself after transmission, so the original file cannot be viewed later from FaxDrop.
My fax has a lot of pages. How long will it take?
Large documents take longer to transmit. A single-page fax typically completes in under 90 seconds. A 30+ page document can take 10-20 minutes depending on the recipient's fax machine speed and line quality. This is normal. Standard fax transmission runs at 9,600 to 14,400 baud. Your status page will update in real time. If the fax hasn't completed after 30 minutes, contact support@faxdrop.com.
My fax failed. What should I do?
Double-check the recipient number includes the area code and is a working fax line. Some numbers block faxes or have changed to digital-only. Try sending again. If it keeps failing, contact us and we'll investigate.
I used my 2 free faxes. Can I get more?
The free plan resets on the 1st of each calendar month. Free sends are capped at 5 pages including the FaxDrop cover page. Paid credits and subscription credits cover up to 10 uploaded pages per credit. Subscription plans reset on your billing anniversary: the same day of the month you first subscribed. You can also buy credits with no expiration or subscribe for a monthly allotment. See our pricing page for options.
How do I get a refund?
Unused credits are non-refundable. If a fax failed due to a platform error on our end and you were charged, contact us at hello@faxdrop.com and we'll make it right.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Sign in, go to your dashboard, and click Manage Billing. You can cancel anytime. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
I need Business Associate Agreement (BAA) information.
FaxDrop has a signed BAA with the fax delivery provider, zero document retention, and encrypted transport. Broader vendor BAA posture is under review before active promotion. Email hello@faxdrop.com to request current compliance documentation.
What file types can I send?
PDF, JPG, and PNG. Maximum file size is 10MB. Export Word documents as PDF first.
Do you store my documents?
Never. Your document is streamed to our fax provider and deleted the moment transmission completes or fails. We do not retain your files.
